Stoiana

Probably the candidate for second oldest city in Rhydar, after Rhosavelle, Stoiana is the largest port city along the Pasmana Sea. This city, once a capital to Daya's Empire, as well as being her hometown, still holds its history dear with its many ancient style buildings and tourist attractions.

Government

Despite the fact that the city is not one of the capitals of the Dayara District, it does hold one head family that represents the district, the historic Pasrin family.

Industry & Trade

Though being just one of many cities that border the Pasmana Sea, the city is still in a very strategic location. Being located so close to the Primiea and Rhosaya districts it gives the city plenty of business and trade from these two districts. The city mostly relies on its ports for much of its income, as well as taxes collected from its citizens, with the city being one of the richest when counting per citizen wealth.

Remnant

Being the birthplace of one of the first Flare users, and having a high number of citizens with Flares themselves, it is custom in the Stoiana schools that the children learn all about Remnant and living in a society with Remnant so prominent in their culture. They are also required to master at least one Swyn as a graduating requirement (Only if they do not possess a Flare).

Infrastructure

Despite the fact that many of the buildings are historic and styled much the same as they were centuries ago, they are kept in well condition as they are popular tourist attractions for outside visitors.

History

Said to be the birthplace of the historical figure Daya the Unrelenting, this city quickly grew into one of the most important cities for her empire. Providing a major port for mainly travelers shipping goods to other parts of the old empire, the city quickly grew immensely, becoming the capital of Daya's Empire. With the empire growing in such size though the capital was soon moved to a more reasonable location in Dayanan (Ave Kris). With the fall of Daya's Old Empire, the city was soon tossed back and forth between the then Rhosaya Republic and newly formed Primiea Empire. With the unity of all powers under the flag of the Atlan Kingdom the city was finally reunited with its Dayne heritage.

Tourism

TATI LIA

This painting, which is hung within the Pasrin museum in Stoiana, is said to be the only authentic painting of Daya the Unrelenting. After the sacking of Dayanan by the Polaris Kingdom, most of the artwork and other cultural works were destroyed. This painting, depicting an older Daya during the height of her power, is said to be one of the most expensive pieces of art in Rhydar.

Geography

Stoiana sits on the mouth of the Lexu River, the second largest river network in Rhydar, which empties into the Jaxhia Bay, a major inlet along the Pasmana Sea which is shared its borders with three districts; the Dayara, Primiea, and Rhosaya. This makes the city a prime spot for travel amongst the three district.

Natural Resources

The city isn't very rich in resources, with the Wola and Albany mountains borders the thin river valley. Their main export Remnant, housing some of the largest Remnant mines in Rhydar, keeps people coming to the port city. But other than that the city mostly relies upon trade for income and resources, which it get plenty of.

Despite the fact that Stoiana isn't a capital of any district, and therefore it can't send its "Head Families" to the capital, the Pasrin family is one of only three exceptions to this rule due to the fact that the Pasrin family is one of the richest families in Rhydar, owning the Pasrin Remnant company, but also because of the family's historical significance to Rhydar being the royal family of the old Daya's Empire.
