Brynic

Brynic, or Brynish, is an ethnicity native to the central kingdoms of Tuono's Corpse. Those of the Brynic ethnicity may vary greatly in appearance, though are generally of fair to olive complexion and of greater height than many of their contemporaries. Many different ethnicities are present around the great Bryn river, however, may themselves be called Brynic in a more encompassing definition, however, when someone refers to someone as Brynic, they often mean someone who is of the predominant ethnicity found in the Kingdom of Durabryn and Kingdom of Sarbrynia.   While the culture of the Brynic people differs greatly from region to region, the people as a whole can be said to value order and competition, some of the greatest minds, inventors and theologians hailing from the lands of the Brynish. It is often said that Brondholm, the foremost city of the culture, is home to every thought and item that has been, will be and could be.

Naming Traditions

The Brynic have a particular naming tradition unique to the culture, which had become especially useful due to the vast regions over which the culture had become dominant by the formation of the first Brynic Confederacy. In the Brynic naming tradition, the persons given name will come first, as usual, followed by their location of origin and then by their family name. This effectively means that someone's place of origin can be deduced simply from their middle name. An example would be Bishop Colwyn of Kilncross who is of Brynic origin. Colwyn hails from the city of Rohnille in Balomir and is of the Brynic house of Rhyss. This combines to form his base name of Colwyn Rohnille an Rhyss, where the "an" between Rohnille and Rhyss effectively means "of".
