Kingdom of Torania

The Kingdom of Torania lies centrally within the eastern extent of the Greater Bryn Valley. To its north the kingdom ends at the shores of the great Lake Drake, a water that the Toranians traverse with trade, often from the great second city, Aldergaard, city of the Lake. The capital of Torania, Torond, lies further south, upon the eastern branch of the Tora River. The old city is home to centuries of cultural progress of the Toranian people, whos inhabitance of the Toramett Forest has allowed them to perfect the art of wooden structures.

Structure

The monarch of Torania ultimately is the greatest power within the kingdom. However, their power is heavily restricted by the will of the Anodds who are a class of wealthy subjects (their wealth defining whether or not they qualify to by in the Anodds) who attend gatherings within the Comanodd to legislate the laws of the kingdom, where an effective majority (50% of those who vote) to pass a law. This will then be ratified by a Ennobled Council, a judiciary made up of noblemen of hereditary origins from families of permanent position and then enforced by sheriffs appointed by the Monarch.   King - a member of hereditary lineage responsible for leadership of the kingdom, has great authority of diploimacy and administration   Ennobled - a member of nobility among constitutionally specified families who are responsible for archiving and judging on matters of law   Nobility - members of landed families, due to their wealth they are almost always Anodds as well   Anodds - wealthy individuals who are responsible for proposing and voting on laws within the Comanodd   Sheriffs - individuals appointed by the king to enforce law and collect taxes   Peasantry - individuals of no significant wealth or lineage

Military

Due to the Toranian tradition of woodworking, the use of the bow has become near synonymous with the region. Toranian Archers are prized amongst soldiers as an elite force to be reckoned with. The strong men that comprise such ranks are often carpenters and woodsmen in their homeland, backs of rippled marble, perhaps the most accurate and deadly of any long-ranged fighters on Tuono's Corpse.
