Aldergaard

Aldergaard is a trading city located on the shores of Lake Drake, the large city uses its position on the lake and at the opening of the Tora River to control trade flowing to and from other settlements located by the lake. Aldergaard is the second city of the Kingdom of Torania, after Torond, despite being the larger of the two settlements. The city is remarkable for its unique purple-red shingle that roofs the market and housing complexes, the large array of stately majors and adjoining gardens, its large arena and the great lighthouse that sits at its docks.
Due to its prime location and abundance of trade, Aldergaard has become the subject of much envy, especially from the Toranian's troublesome neighbours in the Kingdom of Redoria. The Redorian's are no stranger to conflict with the Toranians, having lost a hard-fought war over Aldergaard, known as the War of the Aldergaard Peninsula.
