Brondholm

Brondholm is the great city and capital of the Kingdom of Durabryn. The city is the largest and most influential hub with the central kingdoms, a place where people of all creeds and persuasion accumulate to take full advantage of the services and spectacle on offer in the worlds heart.
The cities origins are old and contrived, only old legends remain now of its birth. It was said to have arisen as a refuge for those fleeing tyrannical rule from the old city of Halfsburgh, the now capital of Redoria. Two brothers, Cedor and Bolus, had abandoned their brother, the ruler, as he had become cruel and mad, taking with them a large following to the plains in the west. There they would settle the city of Brondholm.
Though it had been born as little more than a place of refuge, Brondholm is now a wonder of the world, largest city known to man, home to perhaps a million or more. Within the city the buildings are impossibly tall and highly elaborate, institutions and industry are headquartered in lavish palaces and halls to gaudy for even kings of neighbouring lands. Churches litter the landscape, spires rise up from every concievable direction. The most impressive of them all however, is Cathedral Bolumn.   Cathedral Bolumn is the administrative headquarters of the Hallowed religion. Not only is the place of worship a gargantuan monument to the faith that can be seen from miles and miles around, it is also located in a holy site of pilgrimage, where many travel to from anywhere where the hallowed faith may be held.   to the south of the cathedral, and to the western edge of the city, the citadel is located. An intimidating mass of stonework which was built to house the earliest kings of the Duradic Dynasty, it still hosts the royal family and their court as well as serving as the cities oldest section of outer defences.   the city is encompasses by great walls, they loom above the buildings, taller than any siege engineer would ever build. Broken up by sharp towers, these walls divide the city into several sections, the tallest wall encompassing the city proper with small walls protecting enclaves on the edges and providing extra protection within the city itself.
