Bolumn Cathedral

The Bolumn Cathedral is a great monument and place of worship for the Hallowed Faith located in the city of Brondholm on the western bank of the Bryn River. The cathedral is of unparalleled size, widely regarded as a man-made wonder of the world and perhaps the largest man-made building in existence. The enormous structure is easily seen for miles around by the six great towers the adorn the south, east and west sides of the building, both east and west flanking the entryways to the building while the south towers flank the great arch window. The towers have a tiered structure and are decorated with intricate depictions and statues of religious stories. The building forms a cross with a rounded diamond centre symbolically linked to the iconography of the godly realm, within the building are more statues and depictions of religious stories. Two important artefacts lay within the cathedral that, if the building itself were not enough, draw people by the thousands to the site. The first of which is the blood altar, a great fountain located at the base of the arch window that is said to hold a blessed supply of water (Tuono's Blood) that is capable of curing any ailment within a true servant of the gods. The other artefact is the tomb of Bolus, the brother of Cedor, co-founder of Brondholm.   The Cathedral was designed by Saint Loefric, who had long desired to build an unparalleled monument both to the gods but to the city and its history. Even Loefric himself understood that his vision was one of such magnitude that it may never be finished and certainly he would not live long enough to see its full form. The construction of the cathedral would begin in the year 3863 EM, a time when many things within the world were changing, tribes were migrating and new kingdoms and domains were being created and falling into ruin. It was at this time that Brondholm truly confirmed its status as the beacon of progress in the world, a status it has largely held since, as it began to construct a behemoth structure that would not be finished for eight centuries.
