Millennium City

Millennium City was touted as the ‘City of Tomorrow’ when construction originally started, back in the mid 1800s. It was built on the site of the original Salem, which was destroyed in a massive tsunami in 1693. The land was left intouched for nealy 150 years due to superstition. People of the time believed either the land was cursed by those who were tried and executed there or by God for the crimes done (either by the 'witches' or those done 'in His name'). No-one seemed to want to settle there until a very wealthy land-owner by the name of Simon Templer started construction of what is now the downtown district on the 19th September 1867.   In modern times, scientists believe that the tsunami was caused by a shift in tectonic plates under the North Atlantic Ocean. The current city comprises a number of districts, from the run-down docks and seaward warehouses of Bayside to the commercial and residential districts of Downtown to Albany Heights, home to the rich and famous. Millennium City is a diverse and free-flowing city.

Government

The current Mayor of Millennium City, Andrea Prentice, has held office for just over a year. She has started to look at social reform for those affected by drink and drug related crime or dependency and domestic violence. She personally advocates for a charity, 'Simmons' Sanctuary', which houses those affected by these issues.
