Brother, I'm not gonna sugarcoat it. I have never been more creatively overwhelmed than I am right at this moment as of writing this and it's pretty much all on me vkhfbvfkjv.

On top of NovelEmber, on top of WorldEmber, on top of wanting to dump dozens of hours in both Sonadow Generations and Slay the Princess: The Pristine Cut simultaneously, I've been working on this super secret highly classified creative project for my world for the better part of about 2-3 months now that I'm hoping I'll finish by the time WorldEmber comes around. No it is not something I can SAVE for WorldEmber, when it drops you'll know why.

I want to do all of it. And I WILL do all of it, so I'm Locking In.

Week 1

The Pledging of Goals

I probably won't be going as hard as I did last year, especially since I don't have any big updates in mind (at this point if I even mention dragons again I'll curse myself with another year of not working on it). But I do know now that if I get really invested in something then it's an EASY 1k+ words a day thing. Oh and also the fact that last year I beat WorldEmber by 182%. I COULD'VE gone for 20k if I really put my whole jussy into it but I was definitely cutting it close hjvbkhsjdfv.

Area of Focus

Yeah I got nothing for this year, I'm just gonna vibe and write whatever. I'll save the next big update for next year. I DO know that I'd like to write a lot of Color Stories, and that's probably what I'll be doing for NovelEmber (I will get that participation badge if it kills me). If I find myself in a pinch I can always do the creative equivalent of popping my ultimate and write another "One Shot" for an EASY 15k+ word boost.

Meta

Okay you're gonna laugh. I don't really use the meta, personally it's kinda overwhelming and I just don't vibe with it, but at the same time the way I write anyway already functions as one. The language I use, the aloud boxes for commentary, the links to videos and music I include, most notably the author's notes; I'm very open about what inspires me and my world, I just opt to sprinkle bits and pieces in the relevant places rather than one big collection. Also I'm not very good at describing my world, it's all just vibes vfsbfdskjhvb.

Week 2

Homepage & Primer

Right now everything is still perfect as is and I think it'll remain like that for a HOT minute. If anything can use a little spicing up it'd be the primer, but the idea for how I'd wanna do it actually makes it a perfect target for WorldEmber so I'll save it for that.

Community

Hey man I got a follow button at the bottom and a website on my author page and that's about it. I'd love to stream or do stuff with subscriber lists at some point but I barely have the braincells to manage more than 2 social medias even though all I do is LITERALLY just copy/pasting the posts onto each vbdfkhjbv.

CSS Wizardry

I think the CSS is fine where it is, I don't wanna start getting into the nitty gritty until after I finish this big project I'm working on currently. One thing I know I have to do is update all my past articles to the current styling/formatting (as of right now it's the style used in this and The College of Wizardry) so I humbly ask those who know me to remind me on November 30th 2024 at precisely 3:04 AM EST. I will probably be awake and eating Mac and Cheese.

Week 3

Inspiration

I'll tell ya one thing brother I am ALWAYS consuming media and regurgitating it into everything I write. As of writing this I've recently been watching One Piece and playing through the Halo series, as well as reading through a bunch of old issues of Dragon Magazine. You'd think that none of this would really be relevant but lemme tell ya playing Halo Reach again gave me a REALLY good idea for a rework of a classic D&D monster. Stay tuned.

Week 4

Community

As per usual I'm part of a writing group and have multiple friends that I regularly harass whenever I have a cool idea. In fact, as I write this I'm standing outside one of their windows!

Schedule

See I WOULD plan a schedule but unfortunately I have the very specific "can't stick to routine but will also die instantly if that routine is changed at all" combo of neuroses so the best I can do is gesture in the general direction of December and go "At some point during this you gotta write something". Then when the challenge starts I'll write non stop for 13 consecutive days, die, come back 3 days later, and then make the art for that writing non stop for 10 consecutive days. After which I sit back and admire the 2 (two) articles I have created.

Get Some Fresh Air

No absolutely not I haven't seen the sunlight in weeks and it's imperative that I stay locked in on my current project so I can finally take a breather after 3-4 consecutive months of non stop creative efforts. It'll be peak I swear.

Music is a VERY important part of my entire being so as you can imagine I've amassed a vast collection of music. This link in particular is to a playlist of music I tap into whenever I need a specific fantasy mood that also feels distinctly Oniran-coded. And by Oniran-coded I of course mean it's comprised of 80% Sonic/rock music, I ASSURE you it fits the vibe. As the title suggests, a lot of this music is for combat.
