Sheikar Badlands
As one of those most inhospitable environments on the surface of Myrandria, the Skeikar Badlands are home to some of the toughest, most savage peoples and creatures in the world. These are lands where power reigns supreme, where the law of the land is to exert dominance over the weak and everyone to know their place in the chaotic social order. While there are few laws in this land, aside from what the strongest have simply decreed, there are a few locations that impose some manner of civility. The surface-dwelling drow of Skeikar have long sought to bring the entire region into a new age of law and order. While the only real absolute in Sheikar is total chaos, it is not an unpleasant place to live. The mundane population find safety and freedom in submission to the strong.
Sitting at the southeastern corner of Irolia, this region is a hostile and chaotic place to live in and even moreso to travel through. Often referred to as "the land of savages", each region of this war-torn chunk of Irolia is governed by warlords and chieftains who took control generally by force. Murder and betrayal are the currencies that keep this deadly land in constant turmoil. Bribes are commonplace and while the people are oppressed, they enjoy their strange freedom from excessive law, in favor of a less civilized way of life. There are many warriors from this land that grow weary of mundane life and yearn for adventure. The peoples of the Sheikar Badlands are no stranger to combat, violence and war. There is another side, however. They are extremely passionate about their freedom to do as they please.
The only city that has withstood the test of time in this violent region is Pale Moon Citadel. All others seem to only last a number of years before getting raised, abandoned or reconstructed to their new chieftain's specifications.
