Open Structure
After the tunnel system leading in from the main gate, the interior of the Megastructure opens up significantly, tunnels giving way to large open layers and chasms, often over 100km wide, supported by massive pillars. The smooth walls of the tunnels also give way to much more structured surfaces, featuring various outcroppings, indentations, and what could be considered walkways. Openings can also be found, sometimes leading to discoveries of Titan technology. The exact layout of Open Structure or the locations of discoveries are not very well charted, partially due to the scale of it and partially due to the secrecy that most exploration parties hold themselves to for various reasons.
Open structure is roughly grouped into Blocks and Layers, a block being a single continuous substructure separated from its neighbors horizontally and vertically, and a layer being a horizontal level of Blocks separated from other layers vertically. There are some blocks that cross multiple layers and the like, but this system has proven good enough for most situations.
On the first layer of Open Structure, opposite the mouth of the tunnel entrance leading out of the Megastructure, is a settlement called Frontier , currently the furthest settled area inside the Megastructure.
