Wunschau
Wunschau is a town in Markwald, situated to the north of the Wunsch River.
The town is dominated by its central plaza - the Mondhaus Platz, its Rathaus - the council hall, and the Cathedral of St. Eugen (both of which are located there).
The town has four vorburgs - suburbs - of varying sizes, located outside the city walls. These include Wollhüt, Kleinsumpf, Regenstreck, and Westweg. The latter was recently partly destroyed owing to a fire that broke out at the Priory of St. Beatus - roughly half of its structures remain standing.
The population used to be significantly higher until the outbreak of the Plague earlier in the year. Many notables and syndics perished in the winter and early spring, and there is fear that the latest outbreak will doom the town altogether. However, Vogt Wolff has collected what money he can to bring healers and plague doctors to try to stop the latest outbreak.

Government
The town lies in the territory ruled by the Margraves of the House of Gerlach. On occasion (as at present), the Margraves grant Wunschau the right of self-government, when its Vogt and town council are elected by the town's syndics. However, this right is revocable, and the town may be placed under the control of the Margrave at any time.
Defences
The main town is surrounded by 18-foot high brick walls.
Industry & Trade
Dyers and bookbinders were traditionally strong in Wunschau, and enjoyed fame throughout the region.
Founding Date
Legends say an Antisch village stood here 500 years ago, when missionaries converted residents to the worship of Gaal
