Republic of Tyannani
The Republic of Tyannani is a unitary parliamentary democracy on the planet Tyannani. It is a constitutional parliamentary democracy with representational voting. Each political region, corresponding with population and geography, elects representatives that convene in the capital, Operstone City.
Widely considered to be the most capitalist regime in the Confederate Systems of Lordania, the Republic of Tyannani is best described as a late-20th century neoliberal democracy, with all the failings that come with it. The current Premier is Alexandra Kimbal, who represents the Social Capitalists, the current ruling party.
Much of the Republic's industries and infrastructure has been privatised and sold to corporations by the Government, putting it at odds with the largely nationalised, anti-corporate beliefs of their fellow members in the Confederacy. The Social Capitalists primary goals are to support corporate wealth growth, while maintaining a balance between national and private interests.
The Republic of Tyannani is the only member of the Confederacy that engages in formal diplomacy with the United Systems of Sol.History
Tyannani was colonised in the late 22nd Century by various solar cultures. Upon discovery of Sar'Ket ruins, the population organised the Tyannani Colonial Assembly, which became a member of the fledgling Lordanian Republic in 2215. In addition, the planet's moon Beacon was established as the headquarters for colonisation until 2254. Under the Republic, Tyannani suffered a series of political and economic missteps, which resulted in rampant crime across the planet. Many botched attempts at fixing these mistakes led to massive uprest and political resentment, leading to the election of Leonard Percy, and the establishment of the People's Republic of Lordania.
During the Lordanian Revolution, much of Tyannani came under the control of The Brotherhood, who were able to, after much tension, unite the people into a formal government, which took control in 2280.
During the Interregnum, Tyannani played a crucial role in founding the Democratic League along with its allies on Nouveaulyon. The Democratic League and the Brotherhood merged to form the Confederate Systems of Lordania, with Tyannani being the head from 2288 to 2292, and then from 2305 onwards.
