Personal history
Patch was born to a milkmaid on Foxhollow Farm following a prolonged illness. While the disease was never actually identified, it was feared to be Ghoul Fever. Patch and his mother both recovered. He grew up on the farm, helping out with chores and playing with the other farm brats.
He failed his Becoming. He was told to escort a caravan to Krezzym, but bandits ambushed them and the guards were all killed or driven off. The caravan never reached the city, and Patch was forced to return home in shame.
He signed on to the guard force initially as a member of the Balatar. They wiped out the bandits, and Ellayne Warbough gave him the option of joining the guard and earning his place that way. He’s been a loyal member of her retinue ever since.
