Drow

Named after the curse that caused their creation the Drow are a split race unto themselves. Originally created by the mad-tyrant Corlin, the Drow were normal Elves who were cursed with their skin and complexion. After their Fallen City of Helbrech was destroyed by Corlin much of these Elves scattered. Causing the split we see today. Drow have pitch black to dark grey skin and red eyes and are known to have excellent sight and agility in the darkest light levels. A large amount of Drow would return to their home, now named Lyath'Or (Hopes Reach) and serve their new Drow queen, Xune. These Drow still reside in Lyath’Or due to its long winters, which makes the Drow dislike of direct sunlight easier to accommodate. They are somewhat misanthropic and dire as people, but they still accept visitors and will trade with outsiders, especially Dwarves who they have a good affinity with. Another group of Drow fled down, below the mountains. These Drow would return centuries later changed. Their souls now matching their dark skin these Drow made unholy deals to survive their cursed existence, and now reside in the dark places of the world. The average Kalinian’s inability to tell the difference between these “lost Drow” and the mostly peaceful ones of Lyath’Or is cause of much tension when a Drow enters a room. The Drow, like the other Elven descendants, no longer live forever. The average lifespan of a Drow without being killed is about 800 years.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Drow can be found throughout Kalin, but they are most commonly found in their Fallen City of Lyath'Or or amongst the Dwarves of The Dwarven Confederacy.
