Wood Elves Species in Kalin | World Anvil

Wood Elves

The most secretive of the Elven Ancestors, the Wood Elves mostly keep to themselves in their forests of the Torva’Ne and rarely travel to the lands beyond. Having started their cultural and physical split from their ancestors early, the Wood Elves place their origin in the Druids and Mages who took on the task of healing the lands and spirits of Kalin after the Great War.   Wood Elves don’t look all that different from their ancestors at first glance. However, upon closer inspection differences become more obvious. For one Wood Elves tend be slightly shorter than the other Elf races, making them even more agile and quick footed. Wood Elves have also been known show traces of their natural existence, with things like small sets of antlers on their heads, patches of fur or feathers on their skin, and green-hued skin being seen.   Wood Elves are the shortest lived of the Elven races, with an average lifespan of around 500 years. This is partially due to the Wood Elf view on death, in which they see themselves as returning to the Earth. Not merely dying but instead becoming one with their forests.
