Imaginaerium, Day 19 - Spoopy Thursday

The idea of divine inspiration and an aha moment is largely a fantasy. Anything of value comes from hard work and unwavering dedication. If you want to be a good artist you need to look at other artists, make a lot of crappy art, and just keep working.

Tomorrow, we'll get the next ten prompts - and the hype is very real. Summer Camp has to be one of my favorite times of the year, and the support from every anvilite to each other is just something really amazing. You all stay awesome like that in the weeks we have left, and this'll be an incredible camp!   It can be difficult to keep your levels or energy and enthusiasm up as the month grinds on, so don't put too much pressure on yourself. It's a challenge for yourself, not an enemy that must be beaten at all cost. So take care of yourself and your fellow anvilites. Remember to relax, and to stay Hydrated!

Book Recommendation

by Pelgrane Press
You are reality’s last defenders, elite investigators combating the plots of the Esoterrorists, a loose affiliation of occult terrorists intent on tearing the fabric of the world and letting the monsters in.   The Esoterrorists are a worldwide network of misfits and rejects from various occult traditions who’ve banded together to enhance their power at the expense of others.
The Esoterrorists is a modern investigation RPG, sort of a new (and much more grim) take on the X-Files. Investigators battle not only various crazed cultists, but also some of the most grimdark eldritch horrors I've ever encountered. So, some of the sourcebooks definitely come with a Readers Beware warning. But if you're into grim occult horror, it's worth a read for ideas.   Find it here: DrivethruRPG

Video Recommendation

I love Let's Plays. I think I've said that in an earlier Imaginaerium, but especially horror games, I really like watching. This is another one by one of my favorite youtubers (IGP).           He also runs a lot of charity streams for everything from BLM to Covid stuff, so worth catching one of those on Twitch if you're into the games he's playing!

Movies, Shows, Anime

A man struggles with memories of his past, which includes a wife he cannot remember, and a nightmarish world, no one else seems to be waking up from.
The Dark City is very strange.. And if you know me, you know I like strange. Psychic powers, aliens, vast weird experiment, outrageous visuals - definitely worth a look to see what ideas it inspires.

Music Recommendation

Voice of Baceprot is an all woman band from Indonesia who play some kickass metal.       They don't have a ton of stuff up on Spotify yet, so you might have more luck on Youtube!

Article Recommendations

Summer Camp is producing such an incredible number of amazing articles that it has become very hard to keep up! If you got any you particularly liked, why not link 'em in the comments?

And I just need to link this article by Stormbril, because it's most likely to most visually stunning article on WorldAnvil, bar none.

Humanity's attempt at replicating the blood of gods, Ichor, hoping for an easier material for use in Catalurgy.

Finally, a reminder!

Don't forget to add header images and excerpts to your articles!
Even if they don't show up on the Summer Camp page anymoew, they still show up whenever you or someone posts one of your blocklinks (i.e me, here) or in the discord! A compelling excerpt can mean the difference between a reader taking the plunge or skipping over, so don't neglect 'em! <3

Awesome image picks for today! My brain is churning with an apex predator idea--finally. I am super curious about that weird fruit. Less curious about the food above that. XD

You are doing a great job! Keep creating; I believe in you!

It's called a Hala Fruit, and they are very rare - the taste of Hala Juice have been likened to a mixture of sugar cane and mango, but very thick. :)   https://www.atlasobscura.com/foods/hala-fruit

If you missed Imaginaerium 18, it has another really kickass metal band - that one from Taiwan. Really good :D
