Imaginaerium, Day 13 - Prompts and Journals

There is only one way to avoid criticism; do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing
— Aristotle
First weekend of Summer Camp is soon here - how're y'all holding up? After the first initial burst of excitement and adrenaline, we're now in for the long haul. The first ten prompts have been released, and there's already a ton of really awesome articles... Which we will keep featuring here in the Imaginaerium!   So, stick around!

Book Recommendation

A Is For Armor   Although many monsters are clad in armor that is the product of adaptive evolution or radical mutation, some bear protections that owe their existence to the cunning of men, the kindness of their masters, the intervention of the divine, or the gifts of the infernal.
The Monster Alphabet is a great brainstorming resource for all kinds of creepy crawlies or weird critters. From A For Armor all the way to Z for Zoomorphic, it provides a huge range of random tables to roll up monster from and get your inspiration going.   Check it out here:

Video Recommendation

Popularized with the Ancient Aliens TV show, the "alien came down and built the pyramids" theory spawned some of my favorite gifs, but their actual evidence is.. Not good! As fun as the ideas might be, the truth is very different but just as (if not more) interesting.   This is a long one, but if you have three hours to spare, it is well worth it. There's a lot of interesting trivia baked into the dissection of the ancient aliens theory.

Shows, Movies, Anime

The Atticus Institute is a pseudo-documentary style movie about a government agency investigating a supposed demonic possession and psychic power. It is pretty cool, pretty weird, and if you have those sort of things in your world, might be worth checking out!

Music Recommendation

World Recommendation

Today, we have a two for one special from Sable Aradia and her two worlds of Toy Soldier Saga and the Wyrd West! The Toy Soldier Saga is a space-opera fantasy, with Orcish space-ships and elven space marines, and all kinds of cool things! She has also published a bunch of short stories, with many novels on the way.   Be sure to follow her and keep an eye on them!

Summer Camp Article Of The Day

Because if you know me; I am a sucker for evil mushroom and wicked fungi... A great article from relative newcomer both to WA and Summer Camp, Serukis has really knocked it out of the park with a nice and gruesome condition. Check it out!
The Red Death
Condition | Dec 7, 2023

A rare side effect of ingesting the extract of the bloodcap mushroom that causes the victim's bones to melt inside them.

I've started doing a bit of writing too. It wasn't always sure that I would, but the enthusiasm is infectious! So far, I've finished the prompt for a Historic Artefact and made a Fancy Ben!
Fancy Ben, The World's Last Nuke
Item | Jan 1, 2022

After Ben, there'll be no more nukes. Here's to hoping he doesn't go out in style.
