Calsifer Winterborne, or "Cal" as he likes to be called, is a 17-year-old essetid excited about the upcoming recruitments into the Kourian Military. He is finally of-age to join and expects to serve his homeland fairly against the Zalgi Empire. Currently, he works at his uncle's bar, the Underground and can't help his secret crush on his co-worker, Aiden Shadowlocke.

Personality

Cal is a trustworthy, patient, and tender person, but his loyalty knows no bounds. Unless unshakeable proof can given, Cal will not turn his back on his home country, vowing to destroy the Zalgi Empire at any cost. However, he doesn't pick up on subtle hints or suggestive looks from those who try to open his eyes to the truth around him. Most of the time, he is reliable, practical, devoted, responsible, and stable. Yet, he can be stubborn, and uncompromising, and possessive, such as when patrons at the Underground flirt with Aiden. On more than one occasion, Cal has lost his temper, which resulted in a bar fight starting.

History

Cal was born to his mom, Avila Winterborne, and raised as an only child until he was five-years-old when a strange woman showed up and dropped off her "unwanted" child, Loke Dracos. The only knowledge that Cal had to the boy was they supposedly shared the same father, who appeared to want nothing to do with his offspring.
For a long time, Cal's family struggled with paying the bills and keeping food on the table. By the time Loke turned 18-years-old, he joined the Kourian Military, where he served for four years before dying in battle. Cal, in response to Loke's honorable journey, decided to he wants to join the military. In the meantime, Cal has taken up a job bartending at his uncle's bar.

Name Meaning

Calsifer means "in place of light" and Winterborne means "born of winter". His nickname "Cal" means "devotion" and is of Hebrew origin--the Hebrew source probably refers to man's faithful companion, the dog.
