The Shallows
The Shallows is a vast, shallow-water area located to the east of the Seynan Islands, bordered by Seynin Fant, Seyn Ferra, and Seynin Orris.
This expansive region is characterized by its calm, clear waters, which teem with a rich variety of marine life. The nutrient-rich environment supports abundant fish populations, including species such as Pargam, Melmakkir, and Dolki, making it a prime location for local fishermen.
The Shallows are also home to thriving populations of crustaceans, including shrimp and lobsters, which are highly sought after for their delicate flavor. The sandy and rocky substrates provide an ideal habitat for sea urchins, often found in abundance along the coasts of nearby islands. The area is alive with seabirds, with gulls and Stormhunters frequently seen hunting for fish and scavenging along the shores.
As a vital ecosystem, the Shallows serve as a significant resource for the communities of the Seynan Islands, supporting their livelihoods and cultural practices. This region, with its rich biodiversity and tranquil waters, plays an essential role in the identity and economy of the islands, reflecting the deep connection between the people and the sea.
