Local geography

Seyn Ferra, the largest town in the Seynan Islands, lies on the southern shore of a bay on the island’s western coast, facing out across the Shallows to the east. The town is renowned for its decorative woollen blankets, a testament to the islanders’ craftsmanship and their deep connection to the sea. The landscape is characterized by a sporadic line of hills that runs north to south through the interior, while forests blanket the eastern coast, providing resources for both construction and crafting.   The waters surrounding Seyn Ferra are teeming with life, home to an abundance of fish such as the prized Pargam and Melmakkir, whose sweet, tender meat is a staple of the local diet. Aquatic plants like Harthanweed thrive in the shallows, creating a rich ecosystem that supports both fish and the diverse birdlife that nests along the cliffs. Seabirds, drawn by the plentiful food sources, can often be seen wheeling above the waves, their cries echoing against the rugged coast.   At the opposite shore of the bay stands a temple dedicated to Jires, the storm god, serving as a place of worship and reflection for the local populace. This temple, with its ancient stones weathered by time and tide, is a focal point for the community, where islanders seek protection and guidance in navigating the often unpredictable seas. The vibrant life of Seyn Ferra, woven together by its crafts, its rich marine environment, and its spiritual heritage, embodies the essence of the Free Peoples of the Seynan Islands.
