Tirana Kirkovik
Master-at-arms
Tirana Kirkovik is an enforcer who works for the Grappo guild-family as master-at-arms at the Hyacinth Hotel. She is Hammish Kirkovik's granddaughter, but to become a Grappo client, she relinquished her allegiance to her own guild-family. After her engagement to Sandri Vorcien fell through, she joined the army for a time, reaching the rank of captain.
Tirana is in her mid-twenties and is reportedly very pretty. She has the native Ossan dark olive skin, short-cropped black hair, delicate features, hard eyes, and a scar running from her right cheekbone down to her jaw. She usually dresses like a hotel porter, though she wears a pistol and sword in her belt.
STORY
When Demir Grappo takes control of the Hyacinth Hotel, Breenen Alvari tells Demir that Tirana Kirkovik was vetted and hired by Adriana Grappo four years prior.
During his investigation into his mother's affairs, he learns that Tirana was engaged to Sandri Vorcien, though the match was later canceled by Johanna Vorcien. He tells Tirana he knows about this secret to show her his ability to memorize vast quantities of information about people but immediately feels guilty about it, reassuring her that he keeps her as his master-at-arms because all records of her indicate that she is trustworthy and loyal. She then helps him read documents stolen by Lechauri Pergos to find a way to save Thessa Foleer.
Tirana and her enforcers rush to protect Thessa when Dorlani agents break into the hotel. Her enforcer named Justaci tells her that the Dorlani entered through an unlocked door in the basement, indicating a traitor in their midst. When Justaci later dies from a suspicious fall off The Forge's cliffs, Tirana tells Thessa about the traitor, explaining that she does not even trust anyone with her suspicions. Tirana later finds a hidden military flare meant to alert the Grent army of their location at the Forge, and Thessa helps her devise a way to catch the traitor Kempt by discovering the flare residue on his hands.
When Breenen shows his allegiance to the Glass Knife, he has Captain Hellonian dragoons imprison Tirana, Thessa, and Pari in the abandoned lighthouse. Tirana cuts herself loose with a small belt knife and kills two dragoons. When Breenen shoots Thessa, Tirana lunges at him with her knife, causing him to also shoot her. Tirana later explains that Breenen only shot her in the shoulder because he was too much of a coward to shoot to kill. She vows to track him and his traitorous enforcers and skin them alive.
