Client Paint

Client paint is a polish that workers paint on the their left pinkie fingernails to show their allegiance to the guild-family they have been hired by. Lack of client paint often indicates a lack of allegiance to a guild-family, though the client might simply have a secret patron.

Tirana Kirkovik wears purple client paint to show her allegiance to the Grappo guild-family.
Gorian and several of his fellow Ossan national guardsmen wear light blue client paint to show that the Vorcien guild-family are their patron.
When Thessa Foleer meets Pari in the Ivory Forest Glassworks, she sees that Pari wears no crimson client paint to show allegiance to the Magna family. Pari responds that she works for money, not the Magna.
