Ossan National Guard
The Ossan National Guard act as reinforcement reserves for the Ossan military. They are somewhat poorly trained and poorly prepared for combat. Inside the city of Ossa, they are stationed at the hundreds of national guard watchhouses, where they act as the closest thing to a police force. However, rather than actually policing, their primary role is to enforce the Assembly's will and their secondary role is to act as enforcers for whichever guild-family pays their wages.
STORY
A thousand of the national guardsmen are deployed in the war between Ossa and Grent. Others are stationed inside of Ossa to protect the guild-families, though after Grent hires Kerite's Drakes, talk of deploying more of them onto the battlefield comes up. Eventually, Demir Grappo dresses them up as Ossan legionnaires to trick Devia Kerite on the battlefield, forcing her to retreat from Harbortown.
