Gnákan Savanna

The Gnákan Savanna¹ is a vast region of tropical and sub-tropical grassland with scattered trees and thickets in between, which covers much of western and central Túlmikkía, the southern continent of Gætíus' World.
The main ethnic groups inhabiting the savanna are the nomadic Þárúlsans to the west and more sedentary Vevúni to the east, though smaller groups belonging or related to the surrounding Namki, Tederans and Kemmans also make their home there, mostly around the region's edges.

Geography

The savanna is bordered by the Karatvánamb Forest and the Túlmikkían Great Lakes to the east, the westernmost Óokal Mountains to the southeast, the frigid dunes along the coast of Þefat Sea to the south, the Gmeþon Highlands to the southwest, the coast of Galafam Sea to the west, the Deþren Mountains to the northwest, Vagalkan to the north and the forested hills south of the Talax Mountains to the northeast.
Most of the eastern region is generally flat, the northwestern part of the Gnákan Savanna is notably more arid than the rest, while the western part is considerably more rugged, and along the southern edge the land becomes more akin to a tundra in some places.

Fauna & Flora

A number of large herbivores are found on in the region, including buffaloes (especially to the south and west), deinotheres and amebelodons and various antelopes. Other notable animals there includes pronghorns, prairie chickens, passenger pigeons, coyotes, cheetahs and mountain lions.
