Guess what! There's a book now! — (MxM, Thriller, Erotic)

Exsanguine

To be Exsanguine is to have been cured of Sathiidism. The name refers to the original practice entirely exsanguinating the Sathiid to starve out the condition — a process which killed more Sathiid than it saved, and which was more often done under desparate circumstances.

In modern time, Exsanguination happens through an intensive treatment of hormones and radiation to destroy as much of the condition from the body as possible. Unfortunately, this process is still very damaging for the body overall, and may take years to fully recover from without intense medical care.

Treatment

Sathiidism can be cured with a multi-panel effort of hormones, radiation, antibiotics, and supplements to repress and ultimately eliminate the condition.

The procedure can be done with lower or more targeted doses to maintain a suppressed equilibrium of the condition, as is necessary if a female sathiid wishes to become pregnant.

SATH-1: Beta-Alanine can be given to suppress lactic acid and kill SATH-1 over a course of weeks, but to do purely that is dangerous as SATH-2 feeds on it, and from it gets the materials needed to be able to digest SATH-3. Without SATH-1, SATH-2 cannot digest SATH-3 and so SATH-3 will slowly become the dominant bacteria, which creates the necessary conditions for SATH-3 to nectrotize its host.

SATH-3 SATH-2 will naturally consume all SATH-3 in time. The best way to remove SATH-3 is to provide it with a slowly weaning cocktail of food which will take it a while to process. This will cause the SATH-2 to slowly take dominance and wipe it out. The danger here is that the host will be left with a compromised Immune system for a time until their body replenishes white blood cells—they cannot be given blood transfusion until it's certain the SATH-3 is dead (a period of 3 months is suggested) lest the SATH-3 resurge with the fresh material to consume.

SATH-2: With SATH-3 and SATH-1 removed, SATH-2 will subside on its own and will do no damage on its way out.

With all 3 removed the sathiid will still have many lingering issues left over by the condition, and will require years of gene-therapy, monitoring, and supplemental treatments until their bodies have reset.

Causes to Cure

Circumstances under which a Sathiid is treated and cured of their condition.

Colonization

It is not uncommon for Monoliths to be directly involved in the colonization of the Outer Worlds, a role which requires them live onworld.

While laws differ across the Banners, even the Federation is wise enough to require a Sathiid to exsanguinate before moving to a small and barely monitored community.

Exile

IdPari must be exsanguinated.

Cure

Sathiid may volunteer for a cure. In most places, this treatment is free — the smaller the Sathiid population, the easier it is to manage.

History

A cure for Sathiidism is a boon for the unfortunate and a danger to the Pantheon, many of whom are themselves Sathiid. It used to be that it could not be cured. Few places in the world accepted the Sathiid among the mundane (non monolithic) population, and they were hunted.

The Valuser'ran Supremacy

Sathiidic Integration

To gain its leverage against the Valuserran Supremacy, Metkrah made a deal with many Sathiid groups to establish friendly and safe lands for them should they win their revolution. When they did, Aempis became a destination for Sathiid all across Jhoutai, and an everlasting immigration crisis began. The Sathiid were often given homes in the under cities and treated as second hand citizens. Deemed to dangerous for prisons, if any saw incarceration they were often shipped south, to the Aempian penal colonies in the marianiyah territories, where Aempis stores its dirtiest of secrets.

The Rilaem War

These conditions were what helped set the stage for the Rilaem, and it was after that war that Aempis became more nationalist and less accepting of the Sathiid colonies. Eventually a cure is found and tolerance plummeted—the cure was often forced. An issue with the cure is that it leaves your body horrendously sickened for a very long time if you take it, and there's a chance you'll never be a fully healthy person, and trying to become Sathiid again is much more likely to kill you.

The Harrowing

Modern Era

In modern times, Sathiid are required to Exsanguinate if they leave The Hub for a developing world.
