United Federation of Humanity

Introduction:
The United Federation of Humanity, commonly abbreviated as the UFH, is a major political power in the Founder Galaxy. It and the Illithid-Dilug Intergalactic Empire of New Rocheron are the only two major political powers in the galaxy that span multiple systems. The UFH currently controls 57 star systems. The UFH was formed 7,484 years ago when it won its independence from the Empire. Originally, Humanity consisted of 500 known individuals taken from an unknown primitive world. They were experimented on by the Empire to discover things unknown to the public today. However, the humans proved to be resourceful and staged an uprising, which allowed them to steal weapons and led to their escape from the facility where they were being kept. This started the War of Freedom, which lasted 3 years. Humanity travelled to an uninhabited star system now known as Freedom and defended themselves from the Empire with their new weapons. After 3 years, it appeared that the Empire was winning. However, humanity staged a heist on the Utopia Ringworld and stole something currently classified. This unknown thing led to the Empire agreeing to allow humanity to exist independently, and gave them several things: -One of the last remaining terraforming devices, which was used to terraform Dagarus. -Access rights to the Endangered Species Protocol, a process that would allow humanity to safely increase their population size to millions -Star ships Government:
The UFH is led by an elected president and vice president, who work with the federal senate to establish laws and policies. Each planet is represented by a senator in the federal senate. On a smaller scale, each of the 57 systems in the UFH is lead by an elected governor, who makes decisions regarding their individual system. The Empire:
The UFH and the Empire have a long and rough history with each other. Because of their origin, most humans have remained weary of the Empire. Their history with each other has swapped between states of peace and states of war. Today, the two consider each other as allies, mostly because of the proximity of The Scourge. Immigration from the Empire is prevalent, and 10.1% of the current UFH population consists of alien citizens.

Ares:

Eres is the UFH's closest ally. Ares lies inside federal space, but has elected to remain an independent planet. Regardless of this, the UFH and Ares have had each others backs in every major conflict and have pledged to continue to do so in the future.
