Introduction:
The Utopia Ringworld, or simply Utopia, is the only remaining habitable ringworld in the
Founder Galaxy. It is both ancient and massive, allowing it to house enormous amounts of infrastructure, people, and industry.
Creation
Utopia was created about 602,000 years ago, during the High Precursor Era. It was the first of 7 ringworlds to be created, and was completed after only 237 years of construction. Because it has over a million times the surface area of a planet, the materials for Utopia were sourced from stars, and stored with several Singularity Drives.
Near Destruction
During the Second Cataclysm, the
Super-Aberrant Megafauna known as Larsalioxnew managed to manifest itself in Supreme Solaris through a fracture in the Drift. It destroyed approximately 7% of Utopia before being repelled by the capital ship of the imperial fleet, the
ERS Heaven's Spear. No threat to Utopia has occurred since then.
Modern Day
Over 2/3 of the population of Supreme Solaris live on Utopia due to its enormous size. Utopia is divided into 20 sectors, each with its own specialization. Most citizens live in sector C, while many tourists enjoy the museums, parks, and more in sector D. Sector A is a military base and is therefore off-limits to civilians.
Utopia is home to 30 spaceports, making it a very popular spot for layovers in multi-stage journeys. Most imperial citizens who frequently travel in space will pass through Utopia at least once in their lives.
