The Planar Schism
Introduction:
The planar schism, sometimes called the dimensional war and the first universal war, was a war between the dominant forces of The Drift, the Far Realm, Subspace, and The Universe 1,748 years ago. While the number of participants and the scale were massive, the war led to few effects noticable in civilization, with most of the post-war agreements affecting the occupants of the other planes. The war ended in a stalemate, though some historians consider the establishment of the Alliance Against the Material Plane a reason to consider the occupents of the plane on the losing side.Participants:

Building tensions between the void fiends and sprites of erabos finally sparked conflict when a fiend fleet attempted to claim part of subspace just outside the Kingdom of Erabos. The sprites attacked to fleet to defend their home, destroying most fiends present. Void fiend leadership officially declared war on the Kingdom of Erabos soon after and mobilized for a full-scale invasion of the region. Soon after the initial invasion began, three drift demon masters forged an alliance to invade the home of the void fiends while their fleets were away. With three sides of the conflict active, the planar schism had officially begun.Important Events:
-The demonic invasion of the void fiends gave the sprites a temporary advantage which they used to invade the drift, targeting the three domains that were invading the void fiends. The demon master of Quakura took offence to non-drift demon souls invading his neighbors and fought to defend the drift from the outsiders. -The void fiends eventually drove the demonic invaders out of their home. The defeated demons once again turned to Erabos, but saw a conflict breaking down both the sprites and their neghboring demonic region of Quakara. They choose to allow the two sides to destroy each other, and instead turned their focus to the Founder Galaxy. The drift demons choose the United Federation of Humanity as the center of their conquest and sent every war ship mobilized against the power. Despite growing hostilities between the UFH and the empire, the empire and their allies immediately fought to defend not only the UFH but the entire founder galaxy. -Seeing the destruction happening on the other planes and noticing their non-notable progress, the Sprite Matriarch and the void fiend's Great One signed a truce to preserve their kingdoms and survive the war on the other fronts. They allied to invade the drift and violently end the conflict happening inside the plane before it spiraled out of control. The already existing sprite invasion of the drift was massively reinforced, quickly forcing the master of Quakura to agree to a cease fire. He agreed to turn his forces somewhere else: the material plane. He made a statement to the Great Old One] The Face that Grins, but the entity told the master that they would not reignite hostilities between the great old ones and the civilizations of the universe. The Soul Dragon servant of Shudhri named Xez'dhratl quickly approached the master of Quakara and told him that while their aberrant masters refused to fight the material plane, the dragon and their spawn were happy to assist. The dragon and drift master launched their own offensive against the empire near the frontlines of the Scourge, taking advantage of the chaos from the other demonic invaders. -The three demon masters who initially invaded the UFH had made little progress against the galaxy and began to grow desperate. With defeat looming on the near horizon, they opted to cause as much damage to the empire before they were forced to retreat. They first launched relativistic missiles at densly populated worlds, which the empire managed to destroy. Following their failure, the demons launched a full-scale invasion of Site 0, the empire's largest collection of dangerous and redacted technology. The demons managed to liberate a small number of items before being forced off of the material plane and back into the drift. -Watching the conflict like a child watching ants fight on a sidewalk, the central mind of the Scourge contacted Xez'dhratl and informed them that they would love to assist in the war if they were able to consume more worlds in the founder galaxy. The soul dragon and demon master agreed, and the war on the material plane was reduced to two sides: the powers of the founder galaxy versus one demonic region, a soul dragon, and the Scourge. The End:
The planar schism did not last much longer after the Scourge joined the conflict. The invasion of the drift by the void fiends and the sprites eventually subdued the three retreating demon masters, who agreed to fight the domain of Quakara while their master was away at war. While the demonic forces on the material plane were weakened by their own kind, Xez'dhratl's spawn and Scourge drones assaulted the civilizations of the galaxy. The soul dragon attempted to destroy Dagarus, but Hylax, Goddess of Good managed to kill the entity before the world could be harmed. The master of Quakara begrudgingly signed a peace treaty with the empire now that his soul dragon forces were gone. This left the Scourge as the only enemy combatant left. Because the galaxy had already been at war the Scourge for thousands of years, the planar schism was officially considered over. The Sprite Matriarch, the void fiend's Great One, and the masters of Vruakura and Shirrax officially formed the Alliance Against the Material Plane to serve as an alliance in the case of another planar war.
