The Universe

The Founder Galaxy as seen from 150,000 light years away. Every other dot of light in the image is a galaxy, several of which are over 10,000,000 light years away.

Introduction:

The universe, also known as reality and the material plane, is the plane of existence that contains galaxies and nearly all known life. It is finite but enormous, and the edge of the plane is constantly expanding at 33.6% of the speed of light. The current diameter of the universe is 473.6 billion light years.

Structure:

The Universe is filled with trillions of galaxies, each of which contain billions of stars, most of which have several planets. This basic universal structure is present throughout the entire universe, with a few exceptions:   -The edge of the universe is a physical barrier comprised of matter, antimatter, exotic matter, and pure energy. Anything that touches the edge is immediately shredded into subatomic particles.   -Dimensional wounds are places in the universe where other planes bleed into reality, resulting in hostile environments resembling a combination of the universe and the Far Realm or The Drift
-The center of the universe contains an area where time interacts with matter in strange ways, leading to time passing differently compared to the rest of the universe. According to ancient records, an ancient alien civilization once lived here.

Interactions With Other Planes:

The Universe is one of many planes in the local multiverse. It currently borders two other planes: the drift and the far realm. Travel can occur through these three planes with plane-shifting technology, although travel to the drift is forbidden. Other planes exist, but do not border the universe. All attempts to reach them have failed, although portals to these other planes are rumored to exist. The far realm in particular is believed to "leak" matter into many other planes.
