Subspace
funky tunnel
Introduction:
Subspace is a plane of existence that is unique compared to the other planes; while most planes exist as seperate spaces parallel to each other 4th dimensionally, subspace can be considered the space in between the other planes, binding them together and allowing travel between them. Subspace is not a natural plane, and was created when the Old Gods removed the Ethereal Plane from most of The Universe. Existing in the same physical place as the Ethereal Plane, subspace performs the old plane's duties in much the same way while remaining an incredibly unique and dangerous plane of existence.Appearance:
In its natural state, subspace appears like a vast spiderweb of glowing strands intertwined with each other, suspended in a thin fluid only visible in the ultraviolet spectrum known as "The Ether". Ether is incredibly conductive of the force of magic, which has resulted in subspace being magic's primary method of dispersion across the universe. When traveling through subspace through Plane Gliding, the plane is stretched into a thin tunnel connecting the user's location and destination. This tunnel's walls are thin enough to allow the three bordering planes to leak through and become visible, these planes being the universe, The Drift, and the Far Realm. These tunnels appear similar to the glowing strands native to the plane when viewed from within subspace.Inhabitants:
Subspace has no natural inhabitants. The high concentration of raw magic contained in the ether is fatal to organic and synthetic life, and the plane has practically no building blocks for life to form. Subspace's main occupants evolved independently on alien planets and later moved into the plane after radically altering their bodies. These inhabitants are Sprites of Erabos, Guardians, Azeloki, and spacial beasts.
