Flamekeep Settlement in Eberron | World Anvil

Flamekeep

The capital of Thrane, and the holy center of the Church of the Silver Flame. Keeper Jaela Daran and the Diet of Cardinals hold court here, as well as the blood regent Diani. The city is an island in a tightly enclosed bay, connected to the mainland by three bridges.   The Cathedral of the Silver Flame is the highest point in the city, centered on a hill atop the island. The former monarchy’s castle, Thalingard, sits on the western foothill of the Cathedral.   The Knights of Thrane, under Captain Malik Otherro, oversee the security of the nation, both as an intelligence agency and a collection of military officers.

Infrastructure

The Keeper of the Flame, Jaela Daran, ostensibly rules from here. The Council of Cardinals, in practical terms, runs the country from the city, though they are in fact subservient to the Keeper of the Flame; she seems primarily interested in spiritual rather than secular matters though. High Cardinal Krozen, in particular, has taken most of the secular administration of the nation into his purview and largely treats Thrane as his personal kingdom.

History

. In 299 YK when Tira Miron plunged her sword through the couatl and demon, creating the Silver Flame, Flamekeep was built around that Flame, and the cathedral later built from the keep. The city eventually grew around the holy site.

Architecture

Flamekeep grew as the Church of the Silver Flame gained prominence. Built around the impressive Cathedral of the Silver Flame, the city displays Flamic architecture at its grandest and most inspiring.

Geography

Th city was built on an island in a very tightly enclosed bay off of Scion's Sound. Only the city's bridges connect it to the mainland

From where do you have the image? Is it from one of the sourcebook or some part of the web?
