Chimeras

Though the term is also used to refer to a specific monster which will be detailed in this section, a “chimera” is really just an organism comprised of two or more other creatures, of which there are many throughout this world. Whether they were created by random happenstance, molded by an elder dragon, or merely the result of a rogue wizard’s experimentations, their origins are certainly magical in nature. Many of these beasts are capable of flight, certainly a desirable trait in a mount or pack animal. They are also frequently significantly more intelligent than even other domesticated animals like dogs and horses, making them ideal companions, work animals, and weapons of war. It seems likely that new chimeras will continue to be formed in the future, but these are the prevalent ones alive today.
