Unicorns
The picture of beauty and mystery, unicorns are highly elusive, appearing in the wild only to those whom they deem trustworthy. Similar to how lightborn are humanoids touched by the ethereal light, one could think of unicorns as “lightborn horses.” They have pure white coats, silver, almost iridescent manes, and a single, long, graceful yet menacing horn. Unicorns are extremely long lived, persisting for centuries and potentially even millennia. Poachers highly covet their horns and blood as alchemical ingredients, so hunting a unicorn in their last remaining home of Aeria is considered both a capital crime and an irredeemable sin.

Domestication
Though unable to speak, unicorns are extremely smart, certainly on a level with most people. They are not tamed, but rather will permit elves to ride them in times of great need. The wood elves tell stories of a mythic, nameless blademaster riding the lord of unicorns into a seemingly endless horde of orcs. Both steed and rider fell in the battle, but they supposedly staved off the orcs long enough for reinforcements to arrive and win the day.
