Zekor (ZEK-or)

Overview

A terrorist group formed by Azen Niarow and Fimen Whaquri to seek revenge against the Order of Innena for the death of Azen's Innen partner Resdie, and to allow for the expansion of human settlement that had been previously stunted by agreements in favor of the Gendirlo.
Origins
Mid winter in the year 2034, Azen and Resdie were challenged to a mock aerial fight by an Innen sent to kill them. Miraculously Azen managed to escape, seriously hurt but alive, though the death of his bonded partner drove him insane. Believed to be dead, Azen wandered Dosjorya disguised as a haggard wanderer or as an old man burdened by terrible sorrows, living off of pity and what remained of his wits. Though gifted with more intelligence than most Dosjoryans, Azen was at a loss as to what he should do with himself, or how he might seek revenge. He knew that he and Resdie had been sentenced to death for no valid reason but sheer distrust. Just over four years after Resdie's death, he walked into the Order of Innena's main station in Hasenburg, demanding some sort of compensation for his loss. He was denied despite proving he had regained some sort of sanity and told to leave. Fearful of another assassination attempt, he hid in what he thought was an empty house, only that a conjurer too had sought refuge in the same building. His name was Fimen Whaquri.   Fimen had once lived in the town of Cabton, a now ruined settlement on the Great Achton River near the isolated volcano recently named Sorrow Mountain. A conjurer gifted with great natural magical ability, Fimen discovered a slow but effective way to increase his magical strength, a secret he swore to, and ultimately did, take to his grave. When Sorrow Mountain erupted, his town became uninhabitable and survivors were forced to move. Fimen and several others traveled to Hasenburg in hopes that the military and the Order of Innena might help build a new town nearby. Their hopes were denied and they were told to relocate to existing settlements. All nearby land would remain Gendirl lands. Angered by the denial but unable to act, Fimen resided in Hasenburg for several years.   When Azen and Fimen met, they discussed their past grievances and discovered that they had a lot in common and both had issues with the Order of Innena. Alone there was little either could do, but together they might be able to bring change to Dosjorya. With Azen's intelligence and Fimen's magical ability, they could do a myriad of things limited solely by their imagination and morals. Still suffering from Resdie's loss, Azen suggested terrorizing the Order through killing of innocent members and eroding Dosjorya's trust in the Order until it fell apart. Fimen agreed despite his better judgment, but suggested they recruit others into their group. He would use his magic to augment their members so that they can effectively kill without getting caught. They named their group Zekor, from an old Salimen word meaning "shatter." The two set up a small base deep in the forest, the location of which has never been discovered as it had, at some point, been abandoned for different location.   They did not recruit members right away, though a little over a month after meeting, they made their first kills. Once rumors began to circulate in Dosjorya of rogues killing unsuspecting Innena, they subtly hinted, primarily in forested settlements, that there is a group who is fighting to allow humans to expand far beyond the bounds of settled Dosjorya. The only prerequisite for new members was that they had to pledge that they would not hesitate to kill an Innen. Eventually they would set up a new base north of Axon, with Azen's and Fimen's private base some miles away up in a large tree south of the Great Tree.   The Zekor group was formed in the spring of the year 2039. Their reign of terror would last until fall of 2057.
True Intentions
Still not completely sane, Azen would not be content with just tearing apart the Order of Innena. Using the Zekor's resources as it grew in size, Azen began to search through lost pages of mythology, through history both written and oral, human translations and original Gendirl writings, in search of information from a time when gods roamed the land and granted mortals a bit of their power and knowledge. He sought a bond with a god, hoping to control it or at the very least, break the balance of the gods to cause chaos and disaster in Dosjorya. The Order and the people of Dosjorya has shown him too little kindness, but the world as everyone knew it allowed for such acts of menace to sow sorrow and pain. Azen sought to destroy the world and end suffering so that no one had to endure what he went through.   He worked tirelessly once he strode down this path, for it was only a matter of time before another Innen emerged who were as tightly bonded as he was with Resdie, and they would be in danger of being killed or suffering like he did. Especially after his name became associated with the acts of the Zekor, any future closely bonded Innena would face even harsher scrutiny or even be killed outright once identified. Azen made plans in secret if such an Innen came into existence before the Order was torn down, plans that involved the gods.
