Azen Niarow (A-zen NYE-a-roh)

Overview

An important background character in Dosjoryan Tales. Born in Ahmet to Talgan Niarow and Mideria Sartgra Niarow. Azen can form an unusual Innen bond and has lost his Gendirl, a small male Emen named Resdie, due to a controversial decision by the Order of Innena.

Appearance and Personality

Azen is of average height for a Dosjoryan. His eyes are bluish grey, and his short hair and beard are blonde with streaks of grey. He is lean, nearly skinny due to the ongoing pain from the loss of his partner affecting his habits, though was originally more muscular and fit.
Few people will acknowledge that Azen had a cheerful and easy going personality before losing Resdie. He had an innate distrust for those in power, yet still respected them as long as he had no reason to withhold that respect. Azen was never very outgoing, preferring to socialize with Resdie and a few close friends. Most people who met Azen, before and after Resdie's death, counted him among the smartest men in Dosjorya.
After Resdie's death, Azen retreated within himself, driven mad with grief. He knew what few others did, that the Order wanted him and Resdie dead because Innena such as him had the potential to cause problems. That realization over time morphed into anger that such pain could be inflicted and not stopped. The few people who still saw him described him as truly insane, yet still in possession of his wits and intelligence. Most of these people did not know at the time that they were in Azen's presence, as Azen often wore disguises between Resdie's death and founding the Zekor organization.

History

Azen and Resdie had been challenged to a mock Innen battle, as is custom among younger Innena especially, to test their fighting and defending skills. Wary, Azen and Resdie agreed, but their opponrnt turned out to be far more capable than they appeared and wishing to fight to the death which is illegal by Innen rules. By some stroke of luck, Azen managed to survive the encounter, but he lost his partner, Resdie.
