Zion Reose

As the leader of the Gears Rebellion, Zion works diligently to ensure everyone in the Itude Empire has the supplies they need to survive, even at the cost of his own. His group is considered an organized crime unit by the empire, but that doesn't stop Zion from doing what needs to be done. He is best known for pursuing whatever goals he has, yet his current goal remains the same - overthrow the government and change the tactics of the war so peace can be instilled.   Though Zion doesn't say this out loud, he does have empathy for Crown Prince Kěith Cheonsa. They may never have met before, but Zion does contain a similar goal to the prince; they both want the war to end as peacefully as possible.
The bar sat quiet for once. With silence echoing through the tavern's main room, Zion stood up. He stretched his arms above his head and glanced at the clock on the wall.

Zion Reose: "Barely past noon, huh? Well, I coud go upstairs and figure out a few more plans."

Freddy looked up from the book in front of him. He hummed for a second, then responded.

Uncle Freddy: "Just be back before we open. We've got a gig tonight and I'd hate to disappoint."

Zion smirked at him and flicked him off, a friendly gesture between them.

Zion Reose: "You know I'm not one to leave you hanging."

Personality

by Amelia Nite (Hero Forge)
A lot can be assumed when someone first sees Zion, but two things they'll never forget are that he's caring and gracious. Of course, he's also appreciative, companionably, and reliable, but those are often overshadowed by tendencies of being possessive as well. His caring nature though is what he's most popular for. People regularly count on this and his sharing nature whenever they need assistance or help. Nobody's perfect, of course, and Zion has plenty of character faults too. His scornful nature and apathetic nature can cause things to heat up and make things uncomfortable, to say the least. Fortunately, his grace assures this isn't the case very often.   When it comes to the nobility, many hateful words can be said about Zion, but the fact he's ambitious and demanding is just the tip of the iceberg. Never mind the fact he's also bitter and coarse, but fortunately, they're balanced out slightly by being leaderly as well. But focus on his demanding nature is why he's often despised. Even the best intentions have been soured because of this and his thievish nature, as sad of reality as this may be. Fair is fair though. Zion doesn't turn everything to dust. He's discreet and respectful if you look for it, all considered it could be much worse. Unfortunately, his demanding nature will forever be something to deal with.

The Gears Rebellion

The rebellion against the Itude Empire's government is only one of Zion's passions within the empire and was founded alongside his friend, Uncle Freddy. He was able to establish the Gears Rebellion by expressing his concerns of what the empire was doing. It was tough keeping the rebellion alive and the fear of mentioning it to anyone that supported the war or the way the government worked at supressing others. So, Zion and Freddy took some time to talk about a way to hide the rebellion while being able to keep it afloat. The first step was a location, which Freddy already knew would be perfect down in Serenity.   So, the two of them, went to Serenity and picked out the old building built inside an ancient dragon's skeleton as the perfect location for a tavern that doubled as a secret headquarters for the Gears Rebellion. From there, they teamed up with two other people to form a band that would later become a world-wide hit with their albums.

Patron of the Bleeding Rose

In 2013 EoL, Zion and his friend, Uncle Freddy, were discussing what they could potentially do for the Gears Rebellion in terms of keeping the nobles from finding the members. Zion almost immediately offered the idea of a tavern, something Freddy had been dreaming of building for quite some time. Zion didn't bother letting Freddy worry about the cost of the place as he had everything under control.

Zion Reose: "Why don't you open up a tavern? You seem pretty happy helping others. Plus, I wouldn't mind a drink or two from an ol' bud."

Uncle Freddy: "Seriously? Where do ya think I can scrounge up some crowns? Even if this is supposed to be paradise away from the war, it still costs ya an' arm an' a leg. I don't have-"

Zion Reose: "Don't worry 'bout it. I'll fund you."

History

Birth to 12 Years - His Younger Years
Zion grew up in the quiet little village called Locust Village. While the village wasn't suffering, Zion's family didn't have much. He lived happily until he was about twelve years old, but at that point, things changed.
12 to 18 Years - His Teenage Years
When a group of robbers invaded the village, Zion accidentally maimed one of the villagers during the attack and was banished outright for such a blow. His sister was one of the few who stood beside him, even if she didn't leave the safety of their home. Zion survived in the villainous wilderness, where vampires shunned him and other commoners wanted nothing to do with him. He was treated almost like an Exotic Pet, what with having to scrounge for scraps to eat at night. A few years after the incident, Zion's sister and parents died from starvation and this stirred a fire in him that he swore to never put out. This fire was the first spark in the rebellion to come.

18 to 22 Years - His New Adult Years
Zion managed to find himself signing up for the war and with his intrepidness and perseverance, he managed to overpower anybody who was a hindrance to him and trained to perfection. By doing so, he ensured himself a chance to get close to the capital so that he may form an alliance with certain nobles. The nobles continued to push him away, deeming him as unimportant due to his status as a human, but Zion didn't give up.   While he was powerless to change the past, he now worked on helping people, regardless of their situation or status. Thanks to this, he is motivated by unlikely loathing, ambition, loyalty, and resentment toward the upper class.   After a short while, the Itudean Army forced Zion onto the battlefield, where he fought many werewolves, among the other sentient species. These battles helped Zion see that the way other species were being treated and even how his own people were being used as weapons and not as actual people. From here, Zion started formulating a plan to take out the government for the people of the empire.
23 Years - The First Mission
By the time Zion was twenty-three, he had made a close friend, Uncle Freddy, and they formed the Gears Rebellion in response to what the empire was doing to its citizens. Zion and Freddy struggled outright with keeping the Gears Rebellion alive until Zion helped Freddy purchase the Bleeding Rose. Those who were with the Gears Rebellion were tasked with keeping the secret location protected. A few people who worked at the Bleeding Rose had no idea that the travern doubled as a secret headquarters. However, Kiara Fern and Audrey Vespera of Society Rejects both knew of the rebellion. Music quickly became the first step in the first mission to overthrow the government. Each song they produced was dedicated toward various issues the empire had, among various other things, such as romance and family drama. As more and more poeple didn't agree with that the empire was doing, Zion started seeing people visiting the Bleeding Rose every day; he enjoyed these people standing up for the truth. With so many people at the Bleeding Rose, Uncle Freddie decided to convince Zion to rally them as part of the Gears Rebellion.   After a few months, the crown prince started showing up at the Bleeding Rose in disguise and Zion was the first person to spot him. Their conversations were interesting and Zion quickly deduced that his new "friend" was realy the crown prince. Zion found they had similar goals in mind, what with the empire getting out of control. Thus, they started to form an unlikely friendship. Zion and Crown Prince Kěith made a promise to work together whenever possible to stop the empire's tyranny. This is what led to Zion's first mission with the Gears Rebellion.   Zion and his band put together a small group of people to hijack a train arriving at Iliuard Train Station. This was the day the Defender was liberated from the control of the empire and some hope was restored. Zion even let the Exotic Pets onboard the train join the creation of the rebellion.
25 Years - The Legend Begins
Over the next couple of years, Zion and his rebellion worked tirelessly to fight back against the empire. Their missions expanded and Zion had dozens of spies and agents on the ground in search of evidence that the empire is still corrupt and if the people running that portion of the empire were truly corrupt, then the agents and spies were given permission to wipe out any threats that dare to hurt the citizens.   From there, Zion began staging many more rebellion strikes, taking down corrupt corporations, saving people, and slowing down the production of dangerous warefare weapons, which eventually led to the biggest strike in 2015 EoL, when Zion and Kěith seem to have an argument in front of everyone when it is revealed that Kěith is in search of an "empress" and he plans to take the throne. Zion argues back and the two of them leave their separate ways. In truth, Zion and Kěith have planned for things to go this way as Kěith would secretly be giving Zion information that would help with the rebellion's mission.

The last thing Zion had from Keith was a file containing some information on two Exotic Pet kids that were about to be executed for stealing food from the palace kitchen. Zion couldn't stand to see such a thing happen and put together a team to go rescue her, with him leading it. After witnessing a selfless act from Zion Reose to save those two little children without any care for himself, a bunch of the empire's people are afraid of the empire, yet they do not voice it and continue to submit to the empire's cause.   The heist nearly went off without a hitch when one of Zion's team members caught sight Kěith and attempted to kidnap him to get the emperor to surrender. Zion sent a three rebels with the Exotic Pet kids down a different path as Zion and his team took a route to lure the guards away. The kidnapping brought the palace guards on them, leaving them without many places to hide. The kidnapping brought them to a small home in Vol'nische, where Zion started bickering with the one who kidnapped the prince. As the arguing wore on, many of the others there tried to point out that the empire had found them. Yet, the bickering was too much and it gave their position away. The palace guards were able to find them and they set off a bomb, which blew up the home and sending bricks, concrete, and steel beams down onto those in the house.   When the smoke cleared and the guards were able to clear away the rubble, they found the prince and a remaining rebel still alive. There was no sign of Zion, yet a large puddle of blood was found. It was deemed that he had died and the empire praised the safe return of its prince.
26 Years - The Return of the Rebellion
With the rebellion seemingly defeated, the empire went back to their original goal. In secret, Zion had escaped the house being destroyed. It remains uknown how he escape, but he is currently in hiding, awaiting for the next time to strike the royal family. During this time, the citizens began to spread stories of Zion's heroic venture to prove that treating Exotic Pets like they were nothing was wrong. It is also said that Zion helped the citizens to see that their empire was being governed in a toxic manner and whispers of doubt have started to seep throughout the empire. Until the time is right, Zion Reose will remain in hiding, plotting his revenge against the empire for all that it has wrought upon its citizens.
