Caldows Hollow

When one ventures into the Caldows Hollow, they are running the risk of being caught by whatever group of rogues that now occupy the place. This underground chain of rooms connected to the cave were designed specfically like a labyrinth to confuse any werewolves from the Winter Moon Pack that entered their domain. Although, the cave system has a unique quality about it, drawing many groups of rogues to the place over the past 100 years.

Journal Entry 57:   I have followed through with the Omega's words to meet the rogue who said he knows how to cure the pack. It's now late at night and I'm back with Carl, but I haven't discussed this with anyone as I'm afraid of what would happen. Dare I even write it in here?   Very well. If I cannot speak it, I will jot down my every thought on the ordeal...   I snuck away from the pack at high noon, slipping into the Howling Woods and keeping my head down. Thankfully, I had my green shawl to hide my face as I traversed the woods. It wasn't long before I came across Waterrock Run and followed it to the meeting spot.   Straight ahead, I caught sight of dark cavernous rocks the seemed to overtake the river. A broken bridge draped across the water. I hesitated for a brief moment. What I saw could not described as safe, nor even sane to cross. Yet, I did. The bridge creaked and a piece broke off into the river below, but I made it across!   Now, closer than before, my nose picked up on new scents. Strange and unfamiliar, yet also making my nose recoil in disgust. Sniffing the air cautiously, I caught a whiff of acid and burning moss. The cave was dark, seeping what appeared to be a sickly black mist.   I ventured closer, lowering my body to the ground. From where I stood, I caught a glimpse of a grand, grimy room. It was covered in crawling insects, dirt, and puddles of stagnant water. What made my skin crawl was that moss dripping acid. With your darkvision, I saw rows of vertical tombs, demolished and dismantled by time itself.

Geography

Located in the north-eastern section of the Howling Woods is the entrance to Caldows Hollow, where it is said that nobody has fully mapped out the place to this day. Some even claim that the subterranean cave system never ends thanks to the rogues continuing to expand on it whenever the need strikes. Waterrock Run also runs through Caldows Hollow and branches off throughout the cave, leaving small pools in a variety of spots.
Continuation of Journal Entry 57:   As I ventured further in, the path began to split, and I grew weary of wherever this cave would take me. Its twisted trails lead me passed lost treasuries, unknown rooms, and armories. and soon, I entered a crumbled area. It was filled with tombs, some of which no longer hold their owner. Just what in Bavara's name happened in this place?

Natural Hazards

The cave has one dangerous thing about it - patches of moss growing everywhere. This moss oozes acid, and some of the places the moss grows is not where the moss is put. Over the years, the moss has been guided toward certain portions of Caldows Hollow to keep tresspasser from entering, unless they know where the moss grows.

Cave Secrets

In Uma McClain's Diary, she described meeting Viktor Tyler as Caldows Hollow and what it was like catching a few glimpses of the horrid things inside. She continued meeting him there as romance blossomed between them.   After Uma's death, Viktor left Caldows Hollow, but not before leaving a warning for anyone who dared to enter. Those who can read theives' cant may be able to understand the warning...
Pockets of silver can be found in a few of the tunnel branches. While this may not be a natural hazard to many species, it is considered one of the deadliest hazards for a werewolf to accidentally bump into.   Other dangers include uneven ground, crumbling walls that may collapse at any given time, a few heat vents located benath silver sulfide deposits, and some other noxious gases remain present. The noxious gases also cause the rogues to not use anything that involves fire so that they can prevent the dangers of fiery explosions.   In some corridors, the lighting system that is used (whether that be torches or Moon Magick runes) doesn't work, causing the areas to appear pitch black to the point you can't see your hand in front of your face. One such corridor is the dungeon room that the rogues use to hold their prisoners for ransom. The only source of light comes from the Moon Magick runes located outside the dungeon room, but only if the door to the room is open.
Continuation of Journal Entry 57:   I continued onward, deeper in the cave's depths. As I passed many different passages, some of them seemed to have collapsed, while others seemed to go on forever. I eventually made it to what was likely the final room. A grand wooden door blocked my path. Countless runes were all over it, somehow untouched by time and the elements. I took a step closer to inspect it and...   Suddenly, the door slowly began to open.
