The Trolus Caverns
Ever since the first people arrived on Somnium Reach, the Trolus Caverns have been a mystery. The caverns are home to massive outcroppings of Leechgrow Mushrooms which fill the tunnels with their deadly spores. Those few who have been able to enter the caverns safely have spoken of legends of other creatures living within; eyeless, bioluminescent bipeds, vicious bat-snake hybrids and massive, slug-like omnivores that consume anything in their path.
Because of how little is known of the Trolus Caverns, many tales and legends have been formed of their contents. Some say that the tunnels extend as far down as the continent is wide, with caverns so deep they hold the magma of the planet churning within them. Others say that these tunnels were created eons ago by some unknown xenos race who used them as their home. Though the caves spark many legends, even children understand the danger even approaching the caverns poses.
Ajur, the Cave Hag
While the caverns hold many legends, one truth known to travellers in the region is of Ajur, a witch who is rumoured to live within the caverns. Her body is not quite human, but to those who willingly approach she sells potions and tinctures that can cure the uncurbable and grant ones truest desires. Her presence has been investigated by Imperium forces numerous times, but she has yet to be found.
