Realm of Kagdranoth
Struktur
In the demon realm of Kagdranoth, there is a clear division into factions, each led by a few powerful devils. These factions are Trezrezan, Dolgrulloth, Azzalin, Xalriluth and Vaggath - each named after one of the five great demon citadels. Each citadel acts as a centre of power within the realm and represents its own faction. These factions form the political and strategic units of Kagdranoth. They focus their efforts on expanding the power and influence of their respective devil, both within their citadel and throughout the realm. The distribution across the five major demon citadels ensures a balance of power within the realm and allows the devils to extend their dominion to different regions. Each citadel acts as the centre of political decisions, military strategies and resource distribution, allowing the factions to maintain a stable and controlled system within the demonic realm. The factions of Kagdranoth include representatives of all demon species, ensuring a wide variety of abilities, traits and specialisations within each faction. This mixed representation of different types of demons in the factions is crucial to the functionality of the demonic realm. Each faction consists of a diverse selection of demon types, from the mighty Devils to the various species such as Succubi, Incubi, Pitlords, Gorgons, Minotaurs, Manticores, Beholders, Efreet, Arachniads, Arrathines, Rostramids, Graaloks, Memnirs, Kitsunes, Imps and Hellhounds. Each of these demon types has specific abilities, characteristics and roles in the society of the realm. They take on different responsibilities and tasks within the factions, be it as fighters, mages, blacksmiths, spies, diplomats or in other important positions. This variety of demon types within the factions allows for a balanced and diversified approach to problem solving, strategies and challenges. Each demon type brings unique skills and perspectives that help the factions operate effectively and strengthen the realm as a whole. In Kagdranoth, demons are in constant competition for life energy, which they must obtain from blood in order to feed and reproduce. This vital energy is crucial for the growth and creation of new demons in the realm's breeding grounds. The demons often wage wars against other nations and peoples to obtain the life energy. But wars and conflicts over life energy are also unavoidable among themselves, as they are the basis for the reproduction and prosperity of demonic society. The wars for life energy can manifest themselves in bloody battles for control of breeding grounds or strategic locations rich in resources. These conflicts characterise the internal dynamics of the empire and highlight the relentless competition between factions to secure and exploit vital energy sources. These disputes shape demonic society, forcing it into tactical manoeuvres and fostering a constant power struggle between the factions for the scarce and valuable resources that form the foundation for the growth and dominance of the demonic realm. The Fel Council in Kagdranoth is an authority of paramount importance within the demonic hierarchy. In times of external threats or conflicts that require a common defence, the Fel Council takes the lead in guiding all factions towards a coordinated and unified defence.
Culture
The culture of Kagdranoth reflects the fundamental values and principles that are important to demonic society. Strength and power are the fundamental pillars of demonic society. They are highly valued and are key elements for social advancement and recognition within the realm.
Öffentliche Agenda
The demons regard life energy as the elixir of life, which is crucial not only for their survival but also for their growth and dominance. They strive to secure life energy through war and conquest, whether through conflict with other races or internal conflict over breeding grounds and resources. The demons see life energy and territorial expansion as essential for the preservation and prosperity of their empire. Without sufficient life energy, reproduction could stagnate and the growth of the empire could be jeopardised.
Demographie und Einwohner
The population of the realm consists of a wide variety of different demon species such as devils, succubi, minotaurs or arachniads. Each species has different population proportions, with the stronger species always represented in smaller numbers but with greater power. This is due to the different amounts of life energy required by the individual species to reproduce. Due to conflicts and wars over life energy, the mortality rate is high. This means that although the population is growing, it is also unstable and fluctuating. Population dynamics can also be influenced by the decisions and interactions of faction leaders. Their political strategies can have an impact on the population density of individual species.
Gebiete
The Black Lands are the heartland of Kagdranoth. It is covered in black ash, criss-crossed by ravines and lava rivers. This is where the main citadels, breeding grounds and centres of power of the demons are located. The Barren Lands to the east are part of the demonic domain, but are primarily inhabited by subjugated human tribes and followers of the demonic cults. There are outposts and settlements that are responsible for the procurement of certain resources. The Varanian Desert to the north is also claimed by the demons and considered their domain, but is generally considered a neutral zone as no race actively inhabits it.
Militär
The Demon Military of Kagdranoth is an extremely diverse and dangerous force based on a strict hierarchy, exceptional magical abilities and the determined pursuit of life energy. The most powerful demons, such as devils and pit lords, assume supreme command and command the highly specialised units of the individual demon species. They can draw on a wide range of magical abilities, including blood, fire and shadow magic, as well as shapeshifting, which can be used for offensive attacks, defensive tactics or to perform deceptive manoeuvres. There are various units ranging from flying creatures, beasts and assassins to ground-based forces.
Technologisches Niveau
The blacksmiths and blood mages of the demons have developed blood magic weapons that increase their power by spilling blood and absorbing life energy. These weapons change and adapt in battle depending on how much blood is spilt. With every drop of blood that falls on them, they gain in strength and effectiveness, making them dangerous instruments controlled by the demons. The dark forging of the demons is a mixture of alchemical knowledge, magical practices and a deep connection to the dark elements of the Black Lands. In their furnaces, which are fed by the region's volcanoes, the demons forge armour and weapons charged with dark power. Metals from the depths of the earth, infused with magical impurities, form the basis of their forging. They often use alloys with unusual compositions to create extraordinary weapons and armour. These materials are more resistant to conventional attacks and sometimes provide additional defence against magic. The working techniques are dark and unnatural, often using sacrificial offerings or special rituals that charge the metals with blood or shadow magic. The process itself is accompanied by magical symbols and runes that are worked into the forged pieces, giving them supernatural properties.
Außenpolitische Beziehungen
Relations with other peoples and nations are largely characterised by conflict and war. The Va'Nosh Order wages a holy war against the demons and regards them as enemies. This confrontation leads to constant clashes and battles on the borders of the Black Lands, as the demons are seen as a threat to the Va'Nosh worldview. The Boldarrak Empire to the north often falls victim to raids by demons attempting to expand their territories beyond the Varanian Desert. Like the Boldarrak Empire, the Drakor suffer constant aggression from the demons, who invade the territories of their colonies and vassals in search of life energy. The demons have subjugated some human tribes in the surrounding regions, which supply them with certain resources and life energy. There are also demonic cults in the human nations that have voluntarily dedicated themselves to the demons and serve them in various ways.
Laws
There are no officially established laws within the individual factions, but there are unwritten rules between the individual species that have been established over time. The first rule is respect for the hierarchy. Weaker demons have to show respect to the stronger and more powerful demons. This is expressed in their behaviour and goes as far as obedience and submission. In order to maintain stability within the individual factions, unprovoked killing amongst each other is not tolerated. Unprovoked killing within one's own faction would fuel unrest, mistrust and rivalry. This can affect the overall performance of factions and make them more vulnerable to external threats. Interfering in the affairs of other demon species is also not tolerated.
Landwirtschaft & Industrie
The demons mine on a massive scale in the Black Lands and the Barren Lands to extract the metals and ores they need for their war industry. Valuable metals such as obsidian, iron and abyssium are extracted from the mines. These raw materials form the basis of their weapons and armour production. The demons' smiths are renowned for their skill in working with metals, especially abyssium. They use special smelting processes and magical rituals to process the ore in dark forges. The result is weapons and armour of unparalleled hardness and darkness. The weapons are often forged in sinister designs, decorated with demonic symbols and runes. They are characterised by their hardness and magical properties. The armour is masterfully crafted, offering protection and flexibility in battle, and is often infused with enchantments to enhance the wearer's abilities. This industry is closely linked to the demons' military. The weapons and armour are not only tools of war, but also symbols of their power and strength. Mining and blacksmithing are an integral part of demonic society.
Bildung
Demons do not have any form of education system. They acquire their essential skills and knowledge through an innate and genetic process during the breeding phase. Each demon species has its own unique skills, instincts and talents that determine its role within demonic society and in war. The refinement of these skills, instincts and talents is entirely practice-based.
Infrastruktur
The centres of demonic life are the breeding grounds and the demon towers, which serve as centres of power. These places are of great importance for reproduction and as bases for the various demon species. Deep in the ravines there are paths, passages and tunnels that connect the various breeding grounds and towers. The demons maintain mines throughout the Black Lands where they extract various ores. These mines are connected to the citadels via various transport routes. The weapon and armour smithies are located in the citadels. The goods are transported back and forth by caravans.
