Anatomie

The body of the Gorgons is divided into two parts: The lower body resembles that of a large snake. It is covered with thick, dark scales that have remarkable strength and resilience. These scales are resistant to many attacks and provide natural protection against external influences such as heat or cold. The lower body of a Gorgon is extremely strong and muscular, allowing them to move quickly and skilfully on different terrains. Their lower body is not only used for locomotion, but can also be used as a weapon. They can use it to strangle enemies or weaken them with immense pressure. Their upper body is muscular yet lithe, with a robust build. It is covered in scaly, silky skin that is a dark, almost black colour and has shiny, reflex-like properties. Instead of hair, they carry strands of snakes, which can move independently and can be a potential danger to enemies due to their venomous fangs. The Gorgons have two arms, the hands of which are equipped with sharp claws. They also have large, scaly and sturdy wings. They are designed to keep the Gorgons in the air for a short period of time before they return to the ground. The scales that cover the wings are resistant and offer protection against attacks. However, they are flexible enough to move and turn during flight. The wings can also be used as a defence tool in close combat to intercept blows or counter enemies in battle.

Genetik und Vermehrung

The reproduction of the Gorgons is similar to that of many demon species in Kagdranoth. They collect life energy from blood, which they store within themselves. Once a certain amount is accumulated, they can enter the so-called Incubarium. The Incubarium is a kind of stasis in which they transfer the gathered life energy to a breeding ground. New generations of Gorgons then grow in the breeding grounds to maintain the population of their species.

Wachstumsrate & -stadien

When demons enter the Incubarium, some of the transferred life energy is absorbed by them, improving their abilities and increasing their body, strength and power. This also applies to the Gorgons.

Ökologie und Lebensräume

The Gorgons mainly favour dark places, but are not particularly attracted to any specific region. They live primarily in the huge citadels of the demon realm of Kagdranoth. Their quarters consist of large, spacious chambers in which they have their nests. Their dwellings can accommodate several Gorgons at once and are only dimly lit by glowing red crystals. The nests of the Gorgons are very minimalist and are constructed solely from the bones of slain enemies.

Ernährung und Gewohnheiten

The Gorgons rarely go hunting to gain life energy. Instead, they engage in the conflicts and wars from their citadel. These battles provide them with the opportunity to move in the midst of battle and gain the life energy essential for their sustenance. They absorb life energy by consuming blood, which they suck up with their fangs and snake hair.

Behaviour

The Gorgons display very communicative behaviour among themselves by actively representing their interests and points of view within their factions. They demonstrate their power and strength with a dominant demeanour and try to assert themselves against other demon races. In general, they do not feel threatened by the other races and are friendly towards them, but they do not hesitate to nip any disputes between the races in the bud with brutal violence. They are extremely aggressive towards members of other factions and non-demonic races.

They can also recognise infrared signals, which allows them to see better at night. Their sense of hearing is extremely precise and allows them to detect even the slightest vibrations or soft noises. With the help of their tongues, they can pick up special chemical signals, allowing them to recognise and identify various objects and creatures in their environment. Gorgons have the ability to blind and petrify weak-willed creatures and living beings with their gaze.
