The Wastelands

Early in Crescent City’s history, they had dreamed about ways they would develop the entire northwestern shoreline into something magnificent. Sadly such dreams were shattered, and swept out to sea after the city had been hit on multiple occasions by Tsunami’s. Due to the cost of both repairing the Wastelands from such disasters, and the amount it would cost to finish the Underground, the City chose to shift their investments elsewhere that would provide greater returns, such as Port Maxwell.
Due to the City practically abandoning the Wastelands, very few police are ever seen in The Wastelands, especially at night. This is largely because the Wastelands are beyond the West Side, which has enough Crime on it’s own. As the West Side fades into what is known as The Dregs, the crime rate spikes even further and becomes far more blatant.
Many of the criminals from the West Side will fade into the Dregs if they do need to escape the police, or need to do something without drawing any attention.
