Midnight Waters Waste Treatment Facility
Nestled in a desolate industrial zone at the edge of the city, the Midnight Waters Waste Treatment Plant is a grim and foreboding facility that embodies the shadowy nature of the World of Darkness. Overlooking the murky expanse of the ocean, this plant is a blight on the landscape, notorious for its dubious practices and the toxic effluents it secretly dumps into the sea.
Exterior:
The plant is surrounded by a tall, chain-link fence topped with barbed wire, its entrance guarded by a rusted gate that creaks ominously in the wind. A series of warning signs, faded and partially obscured by grime, are posted around the perimeter, cautioning against unauthorized entry. The buildings within the compound are a mix of decaying concrete structures and rusty metal sheds. Tall smokestacks belch out plumes of noxious smoke, casting a permanent haze over the area. The air is thick with the acrid smell of chemicals and rot.
Interior:
Inside the main processing building, the atmosphere is oppressive and dank. Flickering fluorescent lights cast a sickly, greenish glow over the stained concrete floors and corroded metal walls. The constant hum of machinery fills the air, punctuated by the occasional hissing of steam and the clanging of pipes. Large tanks and vats, some leaking, dominate the space, filled with foul-smelling sludge and industrial waste. Conveyor belts transport refuse from one end of the plant to the other, while workers in worn-out protective gear move about with a sense of weary resignation. The control room, perched above the main processing floor, is a cluttered mess of outdated monitors, tangled wires, and dusty control panels. From here, a small team oversees the plant's operations, their faces illuminated by the eerie glow of the screens.Waste Disposal Area:
At the back of the plant, a series of large pipes and drainage channels lead directly to the ocean. The water here is dark and polluted, with a rainbow sheen of oil floating on the surface and the occasional dead fish bobbing in the waves. The dumping site is partially concealed by thick underbrush and jagged rocks, making it difficult to access or observe from the outside. The plant's operators take great care to ensure that their illegal activities remain hidden from prying eyes.Atmosphere:
The overall atmosphere of the Midnight Waters Waste Treatment Plant is one of decay and corruption. The facility feels almost alive, its every creak and groan hinting at the malevolence that lurks within. The workers are sullen and distrustful, their eyes constantly darting to the shadows as if expecting something to emerge. The constant presence of toxic waste and pollution creates an environment that feels hostile and unwelcoming. The plant is a place where nature has been twisted and corrupted, and where the boundary between the natural and the unnatural feels disturbingly thin.Surroundings:
The area surrounding the plant is equally bleak. Abandoned warehouses, derelict factories, and crumbling infrastructure dominate the landscape, creating a sense of isolation and abandonment. The nearby shoreline is littered with debris and slick with oil, the once-pristine beach now a toxic wasteland. The plant's presence has driven away most of the local wildlife, leaving behind only the hardiest and most twisted creatures. Mutant fish, diseased birds, and other aberrations are not uncommon sights in the area, adding to the overall sense of unease. These locations don't have a lot, if anything written as a physical description since they are mainly used behind the scenes as influences.
