Saint Brigit
Saint of Healers, Poets, Artists, and Music
Saint Brigit was the third child of Godric, and is the saint of civilized creation. She is the patron saint of healers, poets, artists, and Music those who work to build better both the body and soul. She was originally a healer and bard in the town of Carphenion a small mining village outside of Nazzareth. A great battle was fought here between the forces of the Daemon princes and Aethelstan in the first year of the holy crusade. It was Brigit who rallied the townsfolk to rise up against their daemon overlords, and convinced them that "It would be better to fight and die for a better world, than to live on another year in darkness". In the battle to come, she was slain by the Greater Daemon Sabazios only minutes before the arrival of the hosts of Aethelstan.
It is said that Godric looked down on her noble sacrifice, and realized that there would be a day when the war would be over, and the realms of order would need healers, poets, and the arts more than the sword. He raised her body heavenward, still pierced by the stinger of Sabazios, and revived her anew as his third child.
She is revered by the creative trades, as she proved that they had a part to play in making the world worth living in, beyond constant war. She is also the Saint of Hopeless Faith. When people are in a position where it seems all is lost, and the darkness is everywhere, it is the songs of Saint Brigit that play in their ear, and whisper that not all is lost.
