Saint Asera
Saint of Family, Travellers, and Commerce
Saint Asera is the last of Godric's children, and is the Saint of Family, Travellers, and Commerce. Asera was once the leader of a tribe of humans in the Nahusa desert before the crusades, who made a living as a nomadic people travelling from Oasis to Oasis to gather water, and would make a living hunting the beasts of the desert to sell their parts for magical components. They avoided Daemons as much as possible, who rarely had reason to enter the desert. Eventually, his tribe controlled most of the Western Nahusa, and was thriving, but this attracted onwanted attention from Daemons being pushed out of mainland Calradia. A Daemonic invasion was mounted to build a new Daemonic homeland to the South of the continent, and the tribe of Asera (calling themselves the 'Aserai') pushed them back into the Perassic Sea.
In recognition of his victory against the Daemons, and his love of his people, he was made a Saint by Godric himself who visited the Aserai personally. The Aserai held strictly to their nomadic heritage, only settling during the third age when there was peace.
Despite his often rugged appearance, he is known to have a hearty laugh and a quick smile, and even in Sainthood follows the rules of hospitality. Saint Asera is a dual deity of both gentleness, hospitality, and love of family, but also wrath and ruin to enemies. Because of this, he holds oaths and deals in high regards. Dealbreakers are the greatest transgressors, because they degrade the bonds of kinship between peoples, weakening them to their true enemies.
