Sir Rolant the Wyrm Hunter

Sir Rolant ͏͏͏͏ (a.k.a. The Wyrm Hunter)

Rolant was a Cumbrian knight from Maris and father of Sir Gwyn of Oxenwood and Sir Penwyn of Oxenwood. He was the third lord of Fishlake.   Rolant was a rebel against High King Vortigern, and participated in six battles under High King Aurelius Ambrosius Pendragon alongside Sir Pelledak of Lighthorne. He journeyed to Ireland with Prince Uther Pendragon and Merlin the Magician to help restore Stonehenge.   He fought a large wyrm named Gyddryd the Green terrorizing Cumbria on multiple occasions, earning him the nickname Wyrm Hunter. He died slaying the wyrm in 484.   His coat of arms was a rousant gold eagle, addorsed and inverted, and a gold descrescent against a black field.

Rolant was the only son of Calcas and Anna.   Through his marriage to Siana, he had two sons, Calder and Gwyn, and one daughter, Violette.
