Calder is a Cumbrian peasant living in Eburacum, Malahaut and the estranged brother of Sir Gwyn, Sir Penwyn and Sir Maddog.
Formerly a knight and fourth lord of Fishlake in Maris, Cumbria, he was degraded of all titles and ranks by the Lord of the Marsh in 487 for fleeing service to pursue an affair in the nearby kingdom of Malahaut in 485 following the death of his father Sir Rolant the Wyrm Hunter and his subsequent inheritance of Fishlake.
He has one son Tybalt and three abandoned sons, Nai, Aberthol and Gildas.
