Violette was a Cumbrian lady from Maris, the daughter of Sir Rolant the Wyrm Hunter and older sister of Sir Gwyn of Shrewton.   She was married to Sir Yorath of Hallington and became the lady of Hallington.   Her half-brother Sir Penwyn of Oxenwood was conceived at her wedding.
