Tanjarr (TAN-jar)
Formerly a mining town, Tanjarr's mines have mostly dried up, only a few individuals still actively mine for ores and precious minerals to sell. The village has since moved to hunting game in the ample forests surrounding it and cutting wood to provide to the nearby towns.
Location
Tanjarr is located in the South-eastern most corner of the Southern Zangarian Plain, a tendays journey North of the Dark Forest at the foot of the Zangarian Mountain Range. It is a tendays journey to the nearest town of Duin. It's nearest neighbouring settlement is the Ovis TribeDemographics
The village has a varied demographc compared to other nearby settlements, which typically have one primary race living there and only a handful of individuals that are other speices. The following species reside within Tanjarr (Organised from greatest to smallest demographs):
Government
Government consists of a council of three village elders who decide the policies and laws that residents of the village abide by. Any merchants visiting the village must make a deal with the council in order to lawfully sell their goods with the villages borders.
Defences
A small Millitia force, wooden walls surrounding the settlement and watchtowers.
History
Tanjarr was at one time based up a mountain trail, nearly a days journey from its current location. Nearly two decades ago, the mountain village of Tanjarr was sacked and burned down by an invading force from Gir. the warriors of Gir slaughtered most of the village, and those that lived were forced to flee their homes. They rebuilt at the base of the mountain, a few miles from the start of the mountain trail that led back to their now ruined home.
The survivors earned money for rebuilding their homes through a nearby silver mine, which was later abandoned as the resouces began to dry up. Since then the villagers have expanded into other trades, but are mostly self-sufficent at this point.
