The Shadowblades Arrive in Tanjarr

During the Harvest Festival, the village of Tanjarr is visited by a mercenary group claiming to be looking for a dangerous criminal with the ability to change their appearance. During their investigation, the party members are taken aside and asked by one of the individuals leading the group to come under his employ.   The party are unsure of his offer, and after one of his associates burn down the church with the pastor inside, they are shaken by the event and fearful to say no in case he inflicts harm upon the rest of the village by their refusal.   A fight breaks out, the conflict being led by the local tavern owner Duke. After witnessing Duke fight, the party join in, with a couple of other locals joining the fray. The fight is brutal and bloody, with most of the mercenary force being wiped out, but they overpower the party and their allies.   The party members are killed, but somehow reappear earlier in the day during when they were eating brunch.
