Imperial Ward
Demographics
The only residents within the Imperial Ward are highly influential upper-class citizens, high ranking officials including those on the imperial council, and the current Emperor and their family. Other citizens that reside in the Imperial Ward are those who are caretakers of the premises, butlers, maids, gardeners, cooks, and various other professionals. Unaccounted for denizens of the Imperial Ward include three thousand, of the six thousand, soldiers who are garrisoned within Alimmar
Government
Governance of the Imperial Ward falls directly under the rule of the reigning Emperor of Embrith. However, this is often pushed off to the council members.
Defences
As the district where the Empire of Embrith's top officials reside, it is understandably well defended both through the natural fortification of the Teilen River and constructed ones around the area. With thirty-foot stone walls surrounding the district, that have massive multi-tiered bastions with emplaced ballistae in each and several large towers that rise above the city walls and buildings overlooking the cityscape the fortifications alone are imposing to invaders. Beyond just the constructed fortifications and limited entrances, of which there are only two that connect the Imperial Ward with the rest of Alimmar through Highlamp District and Graybluff Farthing, the three thousand standing imperial troops are at the ready.
Infrastructure
Akin to the rest of Alimmar, the Imperial Ward is constructed above a private sewer system as well as a large crypt the is kept even farther below. The roadways throughout the district are impeccably paved and maintained throughout the area, some even say that you can eat off the cobblestone ground. Large estates, each secluded within their own gated areas and gardens are found throughout the area, a massive cathedral with spires rivaling the various towers of the city and stained glass windows that seem to be the work of the gods stands in the Northern end of the Ward. While at the Southern side, the Unsterbon and it's gardens and grounds are unmistakably found. All of the Imperial Ward is lit during the evenings by lamplight along the roadways throughout the district, each is set alight and doused each and every day. Even some of the garden walkways are lit during the night for any late-night strolls and patrols.
Architecture
The entirety of the Imperial Ward is to show both the astonishing designs and regalia of the empire but also to demonstrate the imposing breadth of ability and might that the Empire of Embrith maintains. All of the buildings within the district are constructed out of stone and glass with red tile roofs all of which are created in grandiose designs of the architects and builders. Unlike every other district and most of the empire, the Imperial Ward is populated by sprawling buildings that are far apart as they are private estates within the densely packed capital city of Alimmar.
Geography
Atop a natural rising of the local landscape and straddled by the Teilen River on the Southern side, Imperial Ward is a pinnacle of both power and defense in the region. Having the ability to overlook both the city and surrounding landscape, with ease of access to both Blackfen Bay and Kippen Woods the district is not only an impressive location but also an incredibly beautiful one.
